Terms of service
Last updated 11/06/2026
These terms cover two things: using this site, and what a store that runs on BowlBase can expect from us. A store's own customers are covered by that store's terms, shown on the store's site.
Using this site
- You may read this site and send us a message about your store. Do not misuse it: no attempts to break in, overload it, or collect other people's information.
- When you write to us, we reply by email and keep what you sent so we can answer. Our Privacy policy says what we keep and why.
If you run a store on BowlBase
The pilot. A new store starts with a 90-day pilot at no charge. During the pilot the store is live and everything in its plan works. Before the pilot ends we ask you to choose a plan. A pilot that ends without one does not switch your store off by itself — we tell you first.
Your plan and billing. A plan is billed monthly by card through Stripe. The price and what the plan includes are shown when you choose it, and your store's features follow the plan you pay for. You can change or cancel the plan from Billing; what a change costs is shown before you confirm it. If a payment fails we tell you and keep the store running for 14 days. A store that stays past due can be suspended: its storefront shows a holding page in your name, its admin can be read but not written, and its data stays intact until the balance is settled.
Your store and your customers. You decide what you sell or offer, your prices, your words, your look and your policies. You are responsible for what you sell and do, for keeping your product and allergen information accurate, and for your customers' orders and bookings. BowlBase provides the shop, checkout, accounts and tools; it is not the seller.
Money. Your customers pay by card through Stripe, and what they pay for your products and services is yours. ⚑ We pass it to you, less the card processing fees, on the schedule in your agreement. Refunds to your customers go back through the same route, and you send them from your store's Refunds page.
Your customers' information. Your customers' details, orders and bookings are yours to use for your store. BowlBase holds them on your behalf, only to run the site, as our Privacy policy says. A person's own account and their dogs' profiles belong to that person; you agree to use customer information only for your store and to honor a customer's request to see, correct or delete what you hold.
Your data. Your store's data — customers, orders, products, settings and your words — is yours. You can export all of it as a file, on any plan, whenever you like. If you leave, we deliver that archive first, keep the data for 90 days in case you need it back, then delete it. Audit records are kept.
Your people. You invite your own admins and staff and set what each may do; you are responsible for what they do in your store. Sign-ins are personal — one per person, never shared.
Features that use AI. Where your plan includes product suggestions, a chat assistant in your mascot's voice, breed identification or suggested descriptions, they are produced by third-party AI services named in our Privacy policy. They can be wrong. The words they show your customers are yours to check and change.
What a store may not do. Sell or offer anything unlawful, or anything that harms animals or people; misuse the platform or its customers' information; or let someone else run a store under your sign-in. We may suspend a store that breaks these, and we tell you why.
Support and uptime. Support is email, support@bowlbase.io, answered by the next business day. We aim for 99.5 % monthly uptime, measured from the site's own health check, and we do not promise a percentage during the pilot phase. Your data is backed up nightly off-site; if something is lost, we restore it from a backup no more than a day old, within one business day.
Ending. You can leave at any time: cancel the plan, export your data, and the store comes down at the end of the paid month. We can end the service for a store with ⚑ 30 days' notice, or at once for misuse, telling you why; your export is available either way.
Liability. We run the platform with care, but to the extent the law allows, our responsibility to a store is limited to ⚑ the plan fees it paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not responsible for what a store sells or does, or for a customer's claim about it.
Changes to these terms. We email every store before a change takes effect. Using the service after that date is agreement to the new terms.
